TREE LIGHTING IN RED BANK
Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 11/24/07

RED BANK — Santa and Mrs. Claus waved to the crowd in front of the Count Basie Theatre during a parade leading up to a holiday concert on Broad Street and Christmas tree lighting on Monmouth Avenue in Red Bank Friday.

The annual concert by Holiday Express was their 14th year in downtown Red Bank.

Also part of the festivities was the free, sixth annual Santa Express Train, sponsored by the Red Bank Arts and Antique District, which departs from the Little Silver train station to arrive in time for the parade and concert.

The Christmas Tree is located at its permanent location at 30 Monmouth St. -- The Dublin House Courtyard.

Santa Arrives by Train on 11/23/07!

On Friday November 23rd (the day after Thanksgiving) the Red Bank Arts and Antique District will be sponsoring my sixth annual Santa Express Train, which departs from the Little Silver train station at 6:15 p.m. and arrives in Red Bank with a parade down Monmouth Street that will deposit Santa at the corner of Canal and Broad St. just in time for the tree lighting and a concert by my friends Holiday Express, performing holiday hits for their 14th year in downtown Red Bank!

The open-air concert will take place on Broad Street at Canal Street. Broad Street from Harding Road to Monmouth Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4 to 11 p.m.

Then Santa will be at the historic Galleria shops at 2 Bridge Avenue in Red Bank every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 - 4:00PM through Christmas Eve. There is no charge for a visit with Santa, simply bring your own camera, your Christmas list and your best holiday smile.
